Daedal Games · COGGS
Privacy Policy
We collect the least each service needs: your email if you join the waitlist, an anonymous pick when you vote in the Agon, and your Google sign-in and prompts if you build on COGGS.
We never sell it, never train AI on it, and delete it when you ask.
01Who we are
Daedal Games makes COGGS, an AI game engine, and runs the sites below. This policy covers all of them:
- daedalgames.com, the company site
- coggs.ai, the COGGS site and waitlist
- agon.coggs.ai, the Agon, where visitors play two games built from the same prompt and pick the better one
- play.coggs.ai, the COGGS builder, an invite-only preview
Daedal Games is not incorporated yet. Until it is, these services are operated by Devfiance, a business registered in the Republic of Korea and run by the founder of Daedal Games. Devfiance is the controller of the personal information described here (the personal information controller under Korea's Personal Information Protection Act). When Daedal Games is incorporated, we will update this policy and tell account holders before the operator changes.
02What we collect
We collect only what each service needs to work. We do not run advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not take payments yet.
| Where | What | How we get it |
|---|---|---|
| coggs.ai waitlist | Your email address, the time you signed up, and the test page you signed up from | You type it in |
| Agon picks and hearts | Which of the two games you picked in a test, whether you played them and gave the test a heart, the time of each, and a random ID your browser generates. With each pick we also store a code computed from your IP address with a secret key, so we can tell when many picks come from one network; the code cannot be turned back into your IP address. We do not store your name, email or IP address itself with them | Your browser sends it when you play, pick or heart |
| play.coggs.ai account | Your Google account name, email address, profile picture and whether Google has verified the email, plus the sign-in tokens Google returns | Google sends it when you choose Continue with Google |
| play.coggs.ai builds | The prompts you write, each build's status and times, the build log, and your credit balance | You and the service create it as you build |
| Abuse limits | Your IP address and account ID, kept as counters that limit how many requests can be made in a short time | Your browser sends it with each request |
| Email to us | Whatever you write, and your address | You send it |
03How we use it
- To run each service: show you the Agon, start and stop your builds, keep you signed in.
- To email waitlist members about COGGS, such as a launch or an invite. Every such email lets you leave the list.
- To count Agon picks and publish the totals, and to spot many picks sent from one network. Totals never identify anyone.
- To stop abuse and keep the build machines safe.
- To answer you when you write to us.
We rely on your consent for the waitlist, on providing the service you asked for for your account and builds, and on our legitimate interest in counting votes fairly and preventing abuse. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your prompts or games to train AI models.
05Transfers outside Korea
Every company in the table above stores or processes data in the United States. The data moves over encrypted connections at the moment you use the service, and stays there for the periods in How long we keep it. You can refuse the transfer by not using the service or by asking us to delete your data, but the service cannot run without it.
06How long we keep it
| Data | Kept until |
|---|---|
| Waitlist email | You leave the list or ask us to delete it, or we close the waitlist |
| Agon picks | The test is taken down. The random ID and the IP code are deleted with the pick, and neither can be tied to you unless you tell us your ID |
| Account and builds | You ask us to delete your account. We delete it, with its builds and logs, within 30 days |
| Build machines | The build ends. Each machine is deleted automatically, with every file on it |
| Sign-in sessions | They expire after 30 days or when you sign out |
| Abuse-limit counters | They are overwritten within minutes |
When the law requires us to keep something longer, we keep only that part, apart from the rest, for the required period. Deleted data is erased from our databases and storage so it cannot be restored.
07Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your personal information, to stop us processing it, or to withdraw consent, for example to leave the waitlist. Write to ping@daedal.games from the address involved, and we will answer within 10 days. Someone you appoint can ask for you with written authority. These rights apply wherever you live, including under the EU and UK GDPR and US state privacy laws.
You can clear Agon data yourself by clearing site data for agon.coggs.ai in your browser; that removes the random ID and the record of what you picked.
08Cookies and browser storage
- play.coggs.ai sets cookies only to sign you in and protect the sign-in from forgery. They are required for the service.
- agon.coggs.ai keeps your random ID and which tests you have picked or revealed in your browser's local storage, under keys that start with
coggs-ai:. It sets no cookies. - daedalgames.com and coggs.ai set no cookies. They load fonts from Google Fonts.
09Children
Our services are not meant for children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
10Security
All traffic is encrypted. Stored waitlist sign-ups and picks are private files, the database is reachable only by the service, keys never reach your browser, and only the team can see the data. Each build runs on its own machine, cut off from other builds, which is deleted when the build ends.
11Changes to this policy
We post every change here with a new effective date. If a change reduces your rights, we tell account holders and waitlist members by email at least 7 days before it applies.
